Car: 2001 Ford Focus SE Issue: This began when my turn signals and hazard lights would not work. The right turn signal had always worked occasionally, but a week ago the turn signals and hazard lights stopped completely. After much labor, I think the problem can be tied to a faulty turn signal assembly switch. I'm getting a new one tomorrow.
HOW TO REPLACE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH ON FORDIf you have Ford and you need to replace brake lights switch we will show you how to do that in this video. Usually Step 6: Replace the Tail Light Assembly. Lift the assembly back into place and turn the bulbs clockwise into the housing to secure them. Align the tab on the assembly and press it back into place. Fasten it from the inside by replacing the two plastic wingnuts, turning them clockwise. Snap the panel back in.The tail lights work as long as brake pedal not activated, therefore tail light fuse should be OK. The brake lights work when the head lights are not on and then the brake pedal is activated. This should mean the brake light fuse is OK. Irregardless of this, I have checked ALL the lighting fuses.
Check 53 and 54 I think (reverse lights and brake lights), although it would be strange if both blew together. Also try unplugging and reseating the connectors in the passenger footwell. Simon Bags
