To do the resync, the top has to be in the FULLY DOWN position. You need to release the motors again, manually put the top down, then run the sync procedure. To run the sync, with the ignition off, hold the top down button in the down position and turn the ignition on while continuing to hold the button.

Not really sure what to do, I tried pulling the lever under the left rear seat to release the convertible top motors but that didn't seem to work. UPDATE: we managed to detach the top part of the roof through screwing the allen key under the convertible roof compartment, but we cannot move it back any further.

I tried to adjust the convertibles roof and now the parcel shelf and roof are not working in sync. The roof is now in a permanent half open state. The parcel shelf is almost closed preventing me from opening the boot. Its a 2000 328i convertible. jjXD3CH.
